This Laser Settings Service Schedule (the “Schedule”) is incorporated into and forms part of the MakerHQ Customer Agreement between Customer and Makerflo. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the master Agreement. This Schedule applies whenever Customer uses Laser Settings. If a provision of this Schedule conflicts with the master Agreement, this Schedule controls solely with respect to Laser Settings.
1. Laser Settings
Laser Settings is a public reference tool that surfaces verified laser-engraving settings (power, speed, lines per inch, passes) for combinations of materials and machines. When verified settings are not available, an AI-assisted estimator may suggest a starting point. Laser Settings is offered free of charge to the maker community as well as inside the MakerHQ hub for Customer use.
2. Settings Are Reference Information
All settings, recommendations, and estimates surfaced through Laser Settings are provided for informational purposes only and as a starting point for further testing. Customer is solely responsible for performing test cuts on scrap material, calibrating the settings to its specific machine, optics, ventilation, and material lot, and operating its laser equipment in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable safety regulations.
Customer acknowledges that material composition, machine wear, optical condition, ventilation, ambient temperature, and many other factors affect the correct settings for any given operation, and that the settings surfaced by Laser Settings may not be appropriate for Customer’s specific situation. Customer agrees to evaluate the suitability of any setting before relying on it in production.
3. AI-Assisted Estimates
Where verified settings are not available for a requested material/machine combination, Laser Settings may use a third-party AI model to suggest an initial estimate. AI estimates are starting points and are subject to the AI and Generated Output terms in Section 3 of the MakerHQ Customer Agreement (which apply equally here): output may contain errors and is provided as a starting point only.
4. Disclaimer of Liability for Equipment, Materials, and Personal Safety
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MAKERFLO DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE TO LASER EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS, OPTICS, OR PROPERTY, AND FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, FIRE, OR OTHER HARM, ARISING FROM CUSTOMER’S USE OF SETTINGS, ESTIMATES, OR OTHER OUTPUT FROM LASER SETTINGS. CUSTOMER’S USE OF LASER SETTINGS DOES NOT REPLACE THE EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER’S OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS, SAFETY DATA SHEETS, OR THE EXERCISE OF GOOD JUDGMENT BY A QUALIFIED OPERATOR.
5. Survival
Sections 2, 3, and 4 of this Schedule survive termination of the Subscription Term.
